Twitter Tips To Engage E-Commerce Consumers

0

Emerging media is great for us e-commerce business owners. It allows us to have more marketing channels and engage our customers and future customers at another level. While newsletters is still a great way to keep customers coming back, TWITTER is a new way to reach customers real-time and allow you to market products as they come out.

If you don't know what Twitter is yet, "Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications. While the service, itself, costs nothing to use, accessing it through SMS may incur phone service provider fees."

One great thing about Twitter is that it's a great tool to incorporate into your site because it allows you to custom design it to your website.

How to go about setting up a Twitter account and get followers?

1)      Go to Twitter.com and click on SIGN UP NOW (1 second)

2)      Fill out the information (1 minute)

3)      Where it says, "what are you doing now" you can input product name and URL and click send. Will automatically turn URL to link.

4)      To get users, start requesting people and many will request you back. By requesting we mean FOLLOWING people.

5)      Include FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER buttons on your website, blog, and newsletters.

You're ready to start marketing your website on Twitter!

Using Twitter To Build Your List

0

Many of you have heard me talk about using Twitter to drive people who follow your tweets to your web page.  But how do you even find followers to lead?  There are a few strategies that you can use to build a Twitter following and it works quickly for fast results.  In fact, two of my VIP clients, went from just 27 followers to over 700 in just a matter of weeks!  Here's a few of those strategies …

1. Follow the leaders – When you build a Twitter following, your goal is to find followers who are receptive to your message.  Follow one of the leaders in your particular industry and you can open the way to access their thousands, even tens of thousands of followers.  Here are somes ways to get your name in front of those followers:

• Tweet success stories – If you have a success story to share involving this person – tweet them.  Let them know about it.  They're certainly not going to keep it to themselves, they'll usually re-tweet it to their followers.

• Re-tweet their message – You'll receive a thank you from them, another step in getting your name out there.

• Remember, you need to give before you get.  It's a two way street – or perhaps a two way tweet in this case.  Put together a list of five to ten people that you'd like to build a relationship with and start building on that relationship.

2.  Follow the followers – If you follow someone on Twitter, there's a 50% chance that they are going to follow you back.  With Twitter, you are able to follow 10% more of the people who are following you (if you have 1,000 followers, you are able to follow 1,100 people).  Use software to follow the followers of

3.  Automate and systemise – If you decide to go through and manually add followers, you're likely to have some very tired fingers.  There is software that can automate the process for you.  I use Tweet Adder, a software program that costs $55 and has been a huge help (www.tweetadder.com).  Not only does it automate the process, but it allows you to find the right type of followers for your product or service.  You can use keywords and locations to target potential followers.

While Twitter isn't the only list building tool available to you, it's very effective in leading followers to your web site and squeeze page.  Twitter has the ability to multiply your following quickly.  It's a fast tool and easily automated.

Be sure to start Twittering and use this tool to your advantage.

Tips For Reactivate Your Twitter Following Button If You Reach 2001 With Not Enough Followers

0

There were numbers of ocasion that I have seen some inactived twitter accounts after reaching 2001 following with not enough followers. I Believe the owners of such account have abandoned them by opening another account or quitting twitter all together. In fact, I faced the same problem when I reached 2001 following when I first started with twitter but I manage to solve it easily. I will share my experience with you, so all of us can enjoy the benefits that twitter provide.
If you reach 2001 with not enough followers (The terms and codition of twitter's policy allow any new opened account for the privilege of follwing 2000 following, but if you do them at once, you may risk to have your account suspense because of suspected activicties. The best way to do it is to follow few hundred people each day), here are some possibilities

A. Abandon your account and quit twitter all together or open a new account
If you quit twitter than there is nothing to say, but if you try to open a new account, you will face the same problems again when you reach 2001 following with not enough followers.

B. Waitting for following to follow you back
This can not solve any problem. Since your following have not followed you after 7 days, they are unlikely to follow you back. There is always a possibility that you have accumulated a sizeable number of inactived accounts. Most twitterers check their account sometime, if they find out that you account has reached 2001 and have no intention to fix it, they will unfollow you. At the end, you will be losting some followers instead of gaining.

C. Use automate tweeting
There are numbers of paid automated tweeting severice around, some of them are said very good but some just try to make some money from you. If you choose this route, please select your host carefully becasue as soon as you sign up, you have given your authorization to someone else to manage your account. If they don't do it properly, your account may be suspensed. You also make sure that your host can adapt promtly to the change of the term and condition of twitter's policy quickly.

D. How to reactivate you following button
1. Go to tweet krama
By entering your username and password, tweet krama will[provide you with all information of your account including followers and following
2. Click the following button
All people who have not followed you now appear on the screen, you can try to unfollow some or all of them. Although the bulk unfollowed button has been gone since Jan. 15 – 2010, you can follow any unfollower who is unlikely to follow you back manually. I just discovered this morning that tweet krama has installed a unfollowed button underneath the picture and name of each twitter, you can unfollow any unfollower by clicking the button.
In this state, in order to retivate you account, you should unfollow who has not follow you as many as you can, unless you find some accounts which you would like to retain.
3. After you have unfollowed some unfollowers
You now have more space to follow some people again. Please chosse you folowing carefully, you don't to follow those people who you just unfollowed a few minutes ago and you don't want to come back to do this step all over again.

Finally, I urge you to read the terms of service of twitter's policy at http://twitter.com/tos
and the rule of unfollowing carefully. Remember, there are also some limitations that prevent twitters' spamming that you should read too.

Profiting From Twitter – Tweet Your Way To Success

0

It's amazing what you can convey in a text message that is limited to 140 characters. Many businesses are finding out that quantity is no replacement for quality when it comes to profiting from Twitter. It is the first social networking site that is based on text messaging. Individuals use it to keep friends and family updated with what is going on in their lives Savvy electronic marketers are learning how to harness the power of the text to grow their customer base, increasing revenue. Social networking is tremendously popular, and there is no evidence that it will be going away any time soon.

Small business owners as well as those who run home based businesses are finding that Twitter is a great way to spread the word about their products and services, without breaking the bank. However, it is important to remember that profiting from Twitter is not immediate. It takes time to cultivate a following, build trust and connect on a personal level with your customers. Simply sending out tons of tweets about sales and promotions will drive people away. Since exploding onto the social networking scene, Twitter has become popular with people of all ages, so there is no limit to the type of business or niche that can become profitable.

As with many social networking sites, it is important that you create the right personality. It should be professional looking with tightly focused profile information. Some of the most successful organizations that are profiting from Twitter are concentrating on niche marketing. There are many software products now available that can help you manage your tweets and track your followers. Showing interest in will encourage them to give you their business as you are now someone they know and trust. When you begin accumulating followers, you also begin to expand your potential customer base through referrals.

By increasing your social network marketing, you can decrease the amount spent on marketing while still reaching your target audience. Interacting with your customers will allow you to accumulate testimonials and create a more personal connection. By updating your content frequently, you can keep it fresh and active. Profiting from Twitter requires dedication, investing more time than money. Once your following is solid, you can begin to run dynamic contests and promotions. Customers enjoy being involved in interactive events. Use them to increase web site traffic, gain market share and boost brand awareness.

7 Key Principles To Effectively Use Twitter To Market Your Business

0

My wife and I love Twitter.  We think it's a fantastic avenue that creates new and creative ways to meet new people, and not to mention grow your business.  Unfortunately; Twitter has gotten a bad rep when it comes to people misusing it.  Are there any real rules to Twitter? No.

But there are some sound principles that will help you find and keep more followers if you play by them. These are just a few of many of our thoughts on this topic, so take what you will, and pass up what  you won't.  It's just our opinions, as well as many other seasoned Twitterers.

These guidelines are for newbie Twitterers, as well as other Twitterers who just want to become more effective at using  Twitter to market their businesses.

1. Add your photo.  Seems obvious – I know.  But I can tell you across the board that Twitterers prefer to follow   and chat with those who have a photo.  And not just any photo…a photo of YOU!  Want to connect with more people? Have   more followers? Take a minute to upload a photo of your smiling face. (Be sure it can actually be seen, too.  If it's too   far away, crop it and upload it again.)  Keep in mind that your picture represents who you are.  This will be the first   thing potential new followers will see about you.  What first impression do you want to give them?  This is the most  important question to ask yourself before deciding on what photo to upload.

2. Write a bio.  Want followers then make sure you have engaging BIO. People want to know something about you before  they go ahead and follow you.  If you're not comfortable sharing where you are from with the Twitterer world, then share something about who you are, what your hobbies are, etc.  Have fun with this – it doesn't need to be formal or even   grammatically correct.  Don't be afraid to be daring or even outrageous. Be yourself. It's ok to be different on   Twitter…in fact you'll get more followers if you are! Others will follow you because you're interesting to them, or   perhaps you share similar interests.

3. Add an interesting background. It's the same concept as curb appeal. This is one more way to show your   personality or style, and attract like-minded followers to you. What first impression do you want other Twitterers to   have of you?  Are you fun and spunky?  Are you a traveler?  An outdoorsman?  Sports fanatic?  I can tell you, there are   Twitter backgrounds for every personality. A few places you can find 1000's of backgrounds for free, or to have a custom background created. Don't get hung up on this.  Get a background set up…you can always shop around and change it later to something even more fitting!

4. Don't vomit on people.  Twitter is not just about sales. Use Twitter to meet people first. One of the most common complaints about Twitterers, from other Twitterers, is feeling like you have nothing else to say to them, other than  trying to sell them.  Let's face it, people are tired of being sold all of the time.  There is a reason Twitter is referred to as a social platform…to socialize!  Imagine walking in to your favorite restaurant or bar, and having another patron come up to you, and then blurt out, "Hi, want to make fast cash now? Do it by buying my program now."  It just   doesn't make sense.  It's a turn off and you will get more people unfollowing you if you do this…or, another possible outcome is they will just ignore your posts since you're that 'annoying sales guy who is vomiting their stuff' on them   all the time.   So first things first, use Twitter to meet people, gather a following.  Refer them to your blog so they can get to know   you.  Once they're on your blog, now it would be appropriate to direct them to your ad or sales page.

5. Use your welcome message to welcome people…not to advertise to them before they even know who you are.  This is a common mistake amongst those using Twitter for business.  Even those who say, "Hey Joe, thanks for following me. Like to put hundreds more in your pocket? Then click here!" This is another instant turn off.  It comes across as unfriendly and self-centered.  Don't make this mistake.  Thank them for following you.  If you really want to connect with them, check out their profile page, then you can either ask them a question about it or give them a compliment.  Don't be fake here be genuine in your giving of kudos or showing curiosity by inquiring about something on their profile page.  Start a   conversation, and then you can refer them to your blog so they can get to know you better.  We like to do business with people we know, like and trust, right?  Help them to do this by starting a relationship first.

6. Use automated tools carefully.  If you sound like a robot, for instance when you send out your automated welcome message, this too will turn people off.  Be personable.  Share something about yourself.  And be sure that your message doesn't exceed the 140 character limit…it's obvious you're using an automated response system when your followers receive  a message from you that is cut off.  To be sure it's not too long, copy and paste what you intend to include in your auto-message first in Twitter as a draft.  It will show you if you have too many characters, and you can cut it back if   need be before saving it as an auto-message.

7. Be sure to thank people for re-tweeting your tweets…how kind of them to share your thoughts or information!  When  you thank them, they are more likely to want to get to know you, and may likely continue retweeting your tweets.

This certainly is not the be-all or end-all on this topic.  Keeping in the spirit of Twitter, we'll keep this as short at possible.  I'm anxious to hear your opinions and add to this. I would love to hear your comments.
